High-Speed, Continuous Roll-Fed Inkjet
Featured and in operation was the Truepress JET 520HD, a high-speed continuous roll-fed inkjet press, which is ideal for direct mail, publishing, transactional and commercial printing using both coated and uncoated substrates without the need for pretreating the paper.
Label Production
SCREEN Americas also held live demonstrations of the Truepress LABEL 350UV SAI and displayed several rolls of labels printed on various substrates. With seven colors including CMYK, blue, white and orange, the SAI is perfect for label manufacturers looking to achieve opacity on transparent film.
Sheetfed Inkjet
In conjunction with KYOCERA Document Solutions Inc., SCREEN Americas introduced the production prototype of the Truepress JET S320, a sheetfed digital inkjet printer. New to the market, the S320 delivers A3-sized, full-color, variable printing that leverages Truepress SC/SC+ Inks. The press serves as the perfect production complement to the Truepress JET 520 Series for ultra-short runs and offline reprints.
Flexible Packaging
SCREEN recently introduced the Truepress PAC 520P, a digital inkjet press engineered for paper-based pouch packaging using a water-based ink set that complies with food safety regulations and helps printers achieve sustainability goals. Eye-catching samples from the press were available in the booth along with samples from the Truepress PAC 830F, a packaging press whose ongoing development is designed to meet the last-minute requests of customers in need of standing pouches, gusset bags and center seal packages.
Book Printing
As digital printing continues to gain traction in book publishing, PRINTING United Expo hosted a special session titled “Combining Digital Printing and Finishing in Book Manufacturing,” in which Mark Schlimme, vice president of marketing for SCREEN Americas, served as a panelist. The popular business book, “Fully Staffed,” was printed on the Truepress JET 520NX and finished by Standard Finishing Systems. Its author, Eric Chester, drew a large crowd as he autographed copies of the paperback edition for attendees in SCREEN’s booth.
On the eve of the final day of the show, SCREEN Americas hosted a reception for its customers and guests at the Omni Hotel in Atlanta where attendees toasted to the company’s eightieth birthday.
