SCREEN Americas announces its latest advancements in continuous roll-fed inkjet production as the Truepress JET 560HDX continues to amaze print experts with its offset-like color reproduction and rapid delivery times. The recently installed flagship press from SCREEN's high-speed inkjet portfolio was the highlight at an open house hosted by VISOgraphic, a full-service printer located in Addison, Illinois.
For a partnership that began in 2025, the relationship between SCREEN and VISOgraphic reflects a maturity of multiple years. The close proximity between the two companies has allowed SCREEN and VISOgraphic to easily collaborate on strategies that meet the needs of direct mail marketers. "VISOgraphic has been an invaluable resource for SCREEN," said Ken Ingram, president of SCREEN Americas. "Together, we have been able to develop new ways to enhance the production process, capitalize on automation and optimize postal savings. In turn, VISOgraphic has provided us with immeasurable feedback, allowing SCREEN to further enhance the technology on the press in terms of workflow."
The installation alone reduced VISOgraphic's makeready time by 73%. SCREEN Americas has since reduced VISOgraphic's startup time from 11 minutes to three. "The throughput has been amazing," said John Dahlke, principal of VISOgraphic. "With fewer touches, greater automation and minimal operator intervention, we were able to print, cut, stack and load 800,000 variable 6" x 9" postcards in a 36-hour period. That job would have taken a lot longer on a sheetfed offset press."
VISOgraphic recently expanded its facility, adding 12,000 square feet to its existing 38,500 square feet to accommodate the Truepress JET 560HDX. It also expanded the VISO brand with the launch of VISOdirect, a division that highlights its digital capabilities: personalization at scale, quality color comparable to offset, list management with CASS verification, and postal optimization including presorting and commingling. Two executive positions for VISOdirect were also created.
Visitors to VISOgraphic's open house on July 23, 2026, got to see the Truepress JET 560HDX in action along with the U560/R560 unwinder/rewinder from SCREEN. The digital inkjet press continuously printed thousands of direct mail pieces for an entertainment establishment while viewers gathered around the press for question and answer sessions with both VISOgraphic and SCREEN.
"The open house was a huge success," said Bob Dahlke Jr., principal of VISOgraphic. "You can tell SCREEN is a company that shares our mindset. They've been great to work with; they care and they've been very responsive. It's not just the machine in the box you're buying. When you buy a press from SCREEN, you buy their first-rate service too."
Founded in 1946 and purchased by the Dahlke family in 1979, VISOgraphic has a rich history in manufacturing commercial, direct mail, folding carton and packaging products to a wide range of clients in the Chicagoland area and beyond.
