SCREEN Receives Technology Award from Japanese Society of Printing Science and Technology for Truepress LABEL 350UV Series

SCREEN Graphic Solutions Co., Ltd., also referred to as SCREEN GA, announces its receipt of the 2024 Technology Award from the Japanese Society of Printing Science and Technology (JSPST). The award is in recognition of the Truepress LABEL 350UV series, a group of independently developed UV inkjet systems for label production. The society presents these awards annually in February to recognize technology that has made an outstanding contribution to the printing industry’s growth. The selection process entails evaluating a company’s level of innovation, progress, marketability and expandability as it is reflected in the technology.

SCREEN GA’s advanced Truepress LABEL 350UV series delivers superior productivity that enables printers to meet tight deadlines that are frequently required for small to medium print jobs. In terms of print quality, the series features a wide color gamut enhanced by orange and blue inks, highly stable color reproduction, and easy touchscreen operation for accurate color matching and exceptional printing.

The Truepress LABEL 350UV series uses SCREEN GA’s Truepress ink LV02, which SCREEN GA developed specifically to comply with increasingly stringent international regulations on ink composition. The series is compatible with the company’s proprietary high opacity white mode and fade-resistant yellow ink, allowing the series to handle an even wider array of applications. This wealth of features has earned the trust of customers worldwide. During the period from its initial release in 2014 until 2022, SCREEN GA shipped a total of 200 systems.

When evaluating the candidates for this year’s awards, the judges praised the Truepress LABEL 350UV series’ outstanding contribution to the development of label printing technologies. They specifically cited its excellent productivity, quality and stability, as well as its ability to use low migration inks suitable for food packaging products along with its added orange and blue ink capabilities. The judges noted the series’ impressive range of features, including its variable printing functions designed for very small runs, and the company’s continual efforts to develop new models.

This is the fifth time in six years that SCREEN GA has received an award issued by JSPST. SCREEN GA’s future plans include further accelerating its development of high-speed, superior quality inkjet technologies, solutions for production line automation and high-performance inks. Advancements in these areas will reinforce SCREEN GA’s position as a leader in the field of UV inkjet label production and will allow it to make further contributions to the growth in the printing industry on a wider scale.

“SCREEN GA is truly honored to receive this prestigious technology award from the Japanese Society of Printing Science and Technology,” said President Yukiyoshi Tanaka of SCREEN GA. “Label and package printing continue to expand, thanks to their use in producing daily necessities, but most of this work uses analog methods. Many issues need to be addressed in these fields as we try to achieve a sustainable society, including how to respond to its increasing diversity and reduce the amount of waste generated during production. At SCREEN GA, we hope to contribute to the transformation of society through the promotion of digital printing, which offers both environmental and economic advantages.”

“Our Truepress LABEL 350UV series has been widely praised by customers for the high throughput it offers when dealing with small- to medium-lot work on tight schedules, its faithful reproduction of colors for repeat jobs, and its simple, intuitive operation,” said Tanaka san. “We are extremely happy the series has now received this award from JSPST as it truly validates the high level of its technology. As solution creators, we are committed to the ongoing development of new technologies. We will continue to make the improvements required by both the label business and by operators at printing sites. This will enable us to support further growth of the printing industry while also helping our customers to expand their individual operations.”
